In 1967, the enthusiastic brothers Lauro H. and Ricardo Raatz Reckziegel, grandchildren of the pioneer Karl Raatz (one of the first settlers in the region) and Gustavo Raatz children, together with their wives, Sara Ulbrich and Catalina Becker founded the firm OLEAGINOSAS RAATZ HERMANOS SRL in Bella Vista town, Itapua Department. Having as main market the oil production, since initially they were dedicated to the storage and processing of tung to turn it into oil. With time and the consolidation of new crops, the firm began to storage other raw materials produced in the region, such as soybean, sunflower and cottonseed.
